- 10 MB of hard drive space minimum; increases with data file size.
A year's readings at one hour intervals will need approximately 3MB of extra storage.
A year's readings at two minute intervals will need approximately 60MB of extra storage.
SkyMet is compatible with Oregon WMR-918/WMR-928 and Lacrosse WS2300 (Matrix) weather stations.
DataPak module requires hardware version 5.2 or newer.
You can find your DataPak version by opening the battery cover - there should be a serial number sticker inside. It will read something like 1202.5.2 or 10.04.2.5.12 - in these examples, the first is version 5.2 and the second is version 5.12.
Installation
The CD should auto-run when placed in the CD drive. If it does not, go to your CD drive in the File Manager and double click on 'setup.exe'.
Installation is done with the 'Installshield' wizard.
You will be asked to enter your name, organisation and your serial number. The serial number can be found on a sticker, placed on the inside of the disc case.
Choose the directory to install into. By default the system will install into '/Program Files/Skyview/Skymet Standard'. You can name another directory, but please don't use a full stop in your directory name as it confuses the software.
The Program Folder defaults to 'SkyMet' although you can change this if you wish.
Press 'Next' until the installer asks if you would like to launch the program. Press 'Finish' to exit the installer.
