Setup wizard

To launch the program, double click the icon or select it from your 'Start' menu.
The first time the program is run it will commence with a start-up wizard. This will help you get started quickly.

The first screen is a welcome screen; press 'Next' to continue.

The second screen invites you to enter some details about your location. These are not compulsory but your data, particularly the barometric pressure, will be improved if you do. Height above sea level can be gleaned from an Ordnance Survey map - it will show the height with the contours of the land.
If you have internet access and you live in the UK, you can find the maps and your latitude and longitude on either Streetmap.co.uk or Multimap.com by entering your postcode.

The third screen asks you to set your units of measurement and the times at which you consider day and night to start. These are personal preferences only and do not affect the functions of the software except to show the data in your preferred manner.

The fourth screen allows you to set the alarm values for various weather variables.

The penultimate screen asks you to set your Internet preferences. If you do not have an Internet connection or you wish to download data at less frequent intervals, untick the boxes, but otherwise the software will download resources such as a UK map and satellite images once an hour.

You may also choose a remote station to log data from. It can be helpful to compare your own readings with those of an official station nearby.

The final screen allows to you allocate the available Internet resources to five buttons which will be present on the main data screens. Local images will enable the 'Browse' button so that you can pick up an image from your own computer. If you assign Local images to more than one button, each button can have a different image attached. This allows more flexible options such as using both a zoomed in and wide area map of your town or village.

Press 'Finish' to exit the wizard and you will see the main area of the software.

You can change all of the settings in the wizard at a later date by visiting the 'Preferences' panel, accessible from the main menu or by pressing F6.
