DataPak

DataPak functions are unavailable in the demo version but are included here for reference.

Owners of the WMR-918/928 who use a Skyview Systems DataPak datalogger can download their data into the log file within SkyMet.
We are sorry, but the WS-2300 is not compatible with the datalogger.

To access the DataPak software, click on 'Settings - Access Datapak' from the main menu. A box will appear, which will respond to your input after it has queried the DataPak.

Configuration

There are several options on the DataPak dialogue box. The first is to tell the software which type of weather station you have - this will usually be WMR928/WMR918.

Sample period is the time interval at which the DataPak will log data. You have a choice of 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 60, 120 or 240 minutes.

Record Max/Min will record max/min temperature when switched on. If you switch it off, the stored data will take up less memory, so you can fit more on.

Wrap around logging will overwrite the oldest data with each new current data line. Switching this off means the datalogger will stop recording when it runs out of space - this can be desirable in some situations.

Record Only stops the DataPak sending information on to the PC.

PC Time is the current computer time.
Station Time is the time on the datalogger. This is set to the same as the PC if you press 'configure', even if you do nothing else.

The three boxes for the WMR extra sensors are not currently functional so please leave them switched off for now. We will release a new version in due course which caters for these.

Usage

Pressing the 'test' button will provoke a response from the DataPak. It is also useful to test after changing any settings to ensure they have been set correctly.

The 'Download' button will download any records stored on the DataPak. You can see how many records are on the machine below, on the status bar of the dialogue window. It will also give you a numerical progress meter when downloading, as shown in the screenshot here. The data will be stored in the main SkyMet data log file.

The 'Configure' button should be pressed after changing any of the configuration settings.

In short, once the DataPak is set up to your liking, all you need to do is activate the DataPak dialogue window, press 'Download' to get your weather data, then close the window. The data should now appear in the Raw Data screen within SkyMet.

The hardware version of your DataPak is shown at the bottom left corner of the status bar.
